"Revolution in medical care"
MEDIPOST is
committed to providing cord blood banking services
and innovative adult stem cell drugs. Umbilical
Cord Blood (UCB) - or simply referred to as 'cord
blood', is the blood remaining in the newborn's
umbilical cord after birth, and it can only be collected
at the time of birth.
Cord
blood banking is about collecting
and storing stem cells from the newborn's umbilical
cord. The cord blood is a rich, non-controversial
source of stem cells that have been shown to be
effective in treating nearly 80 different life-threatening
conditions.
Stem
cells known as Mesenchymal Stem Cells (MSCs)
are isolated from publically donated cord blood
and these human Umbilical Cord Blood-derived MSCs
(hUCB-MSCs) are used to develop adult stem cell
drugs that can give hope to patients with an incurable
disease. Because these hUCB-MSCs have a special
'immune-privileged' characteristic, stem cells from
an unrelated donor can be used to treat conditions
of any patient, without concerns of immune-rejection.
Using the state-of-the-art stem
cell processing and culturing technology together
with a dedicated team of over 50 scientists, MEDIPOST
is striving to lead a new era of Regenerative Medicine.
With over a decade of R&D investment on cutting-edge
stem cell technology, MEDIPOST is proud to bring
world's first hUCB-MSC based drugs into the market
which we believe will revolutionize today's medical
care.
